Thomas Todd likes Fakenham

Adam Wedge sat tight as Thomas Todd ploughed through the last fence on his way to another Fakenham victory. He still seems to be improving at 11 years of age !

THOMAS TODD up 7lb for his Perth success, travelled strongly and never really looked in any trouble, although having to survive a scare at the last, to run out a fairly comfortable winner. He has an enviable record at the track and, for an 11yo, still looks to have more to offer. However, life will become tougher once the handicapper has his say but he should continue to make his presence felt with conditions to suit.

BE Sedge 4

Impressive debut by Bold Endeavour

Winning Irish point to pointer Bold Endeavour made a spectacular debut in the bumper at Sedgefield , winning very easily under a confident ride from Adam Wedge. A horse with a bright future.

BOLD ENDEAVOUR made a winning debut in an Irish point-to-point in September, beating a subsequent scorer, and changed hands for 190,000GBP afterwards. Hooded for this rules debut, this nice individual ran on strongly and looks a pretty decent recruit. He won't mind it softer. Laura Morgan has won with three of her last five runners

Licklighter wins over 3 miles

Stepped up to three miles for the first time, Licklighter put in an impressive performance to win under Brian Hughes. A welcome win for loyal owner Paul Read who has had horses with Laura from the start of her training career.

LICKLIGHTER proved suited by this step up in trip. Always travelling with purpose down the inside, he was held onto as long as possible by his rider and fairly sprinted clear when given the office after two out. He will get a fair whack in the weights for this but surely has more to give over marathon trips on summer ground.

GJ Hex 4

Gentle Jolie wins at Hexham

Gentle Jolie, making her debut for the yard was a game winner on her first outing over hurdles. It was also a winner on his first ride for the yard for Tommy Dowson.

GENTLE JOLIE, runner-up in the second of two Irish points, looked booked for second on her hurdling debut but was handed a chance when the hot favourite began to falter. Her stamina kicked in on the run-in, strongly suggesting that longer distances will be more her thing in the future.

TT Perth 5

Thomas Todd makes All at Perth

Thomas Todd was another Perth Festival winner for the Laura Morgan yard when making all under an enterprising ride from Patrick Cowley.

THOMAS TODD loved it out in front and wasn't for catching after skipping clear off the home turn. This drying surface was a lot more to his liking and, despite jumping out to his left, he has to be rated value for a lot further. Much now depends on how the handicapper views this.

TD Perth 2

Taras Day wins at Perth

After 449 days off the track, Taras Day was trained to perfection to make a winning return and first winner under rules for yard amateur Lewis Dobb

TARAS DAY hit top gear nearing the last and shrugged off a 449-day layoff to win readily. She was 3lb lower than when just missing out on her final outing early last year, but this was a fine effort and the 8yo is open to improvement as a stayer.

JAF War 3

J’Ai Froid lands the Four Timer

J’Ai Froid kept up the magnificent run of the Laura Morgan Stable by landing his four timer for the yard, at Warwick. Despite some hefty rises in the weights he continues to improve. A good positive ride from Max Kendrick.

J'AI FROID, who wasn't always fluent, has really found his form since headgear has been used and most probably grabbed another career-best here, taking this eased down. Some of his siblings were very classy at their best and this lightly raced 8yo is heading in the same direction.

Fire Away lands his Hatrick

Despite a couple of hefty rises by the handicapper Fire Away comfortably landed his Hatrick for the yard and was not troubled by the drop back in trip to 2 miles. He is an exciting horse

FIRE AWAY completed a hat-trick pretty comfortably despite a 13lb higher mark and is unbeaten in three since joining Laura Morgan. The shorter trip was no problem and a greater concern proved to be his jumping, which was scruffy at times.

WMG Ayr 3

Wheres Maud Gone wins at Ayr

Wheres Maud Gone continues the fine run of form for the yard by putting in a gutsy performance to win at Ayr under a powerful ride from Adam Wedge….

WHERES MAUD GONE, purchased for £75,000 after winning easily on her debut for Sam Curling at Thurles in Ireland in November, was made to work much harder than initially looked likely, but she knuckled down well in the final furlong and never really looked like getting beaten. The only ride of the afternoon for Adam Wedge, she was ridden with lots of confidence and appeared simply to be toying with the runner-up when challenging on the bridle 3f out. It was encouraging to see her fight for this like she did and she's clearly a smart prospect for her in-form trainer.

JAF As 6

J’Ai Froid keeps the run going at Ascot

J’Ai Froid continued the magnificent form of the yard becoming the fourth winner in three days and landing his own hatrick under a fine ride from Max Kendrick.

Add 66yds. A strong handicap for the level, featuring plenty of in-form hurdlers. The first four - three of whom were last-time-out winners - pulled a long way clear. and are still progressive J'AI FROID signed off on a winning note for his old stable and has returned from a break to make it three successive wins from four starts for his new one. This was his first run over further than 2m4f and he was up 11lb since his last win, but he confirmed he is a strong stayer and a progressive one with a gutsy performance.
